SACRAMENTS OF INITIATION
Baptism
Baptism Preparation is offered through the Holy Family Catholic Community parish. Therefore, please contact the Parish Office at (585) 728-2228.
Eucharist
The Eucharist is the “sign” and “cause” of our communion with God and our unity as the People of God. In the Eucharist, we “unite ourselves with the heavenly liturgy” and with one another. Together transformed, we are then sent forth to fulfill God’s will in our daily lives (Catechism of the Catholic Church #1325-26, 1332). In this way, the Eucharistic liturgy is social in nature. It is the celebration through which God draws us into communion with Himself and with others, forming and transforming us to live as the Body of Christ in the world.

Confirmation
In the rite of Baptism, we become new members of the body of Christ, but our journey does not end there. The decision to be baptized is followed by continued growth, learning, and witness as members of the body of Christ. Our desire to continue to grow and develop as Christians finds expression in Confirmation, when we renew our baptismal promises and receive in a new way the gift of the Holy Spirit, which strengthens our “bond” with the Church and its members (Catechism 1316 and John Paul II, Redemptoris Misso 26).

SACRAMENTS OF HEALING
Penance and Reconciliation
The Sacrament of Penance is an experience of the gift of God’s boundless mercy. Not only does it free us from our sins but it also challenges us to have the same kind of compassion and forgiveness for those who sin against us. We are liberated to be forgivers. We obtain new insight into the words of the Prayer of St. Francis: “It is in pardoning that we are pardoned.”

Anointing of the Sick
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick confers the grace of strengthening our faith and trust in God when we are seriously ill, weakened by old age, or dying. We receive grace to face our sickness, weakness, or dying with courage and hope.
Please call the Rectory at (585) 335-2700 for this Sacrament. If you are unable to reach a priest at this number, please contact the office at (585) 728-2228.
SACRAMENTS OF SERVICE
Matrimony
Matrimony consecrates a baptized man and a baptized woman to love each other and to become a living sign of Christ’s love for the Church. They become a sign, or sacrament, of God’s ever-present invitation to all people to share in the life and love of God
To schedule a wedding at one of the Holy Family Catholic Community Churches, you need an appointment with the Pastor.
Brides and Grooms-to-be are responsible for scheduling themselves for Fully Engaged. Schedules and registration information are available also at the Parish office.
Holy Orders
The sacrament of Holy Orders is conferred in all three degrees, Bishops, priests and deacons by a bishop. This is done by the laying on of hands on the man being ordained, followed by a solemn prayer of consecration asking God to grant the ordained, or man being ordained the graces of the Holy Spirit required for his ministry.
Contact Fr. John Gathenya Pastor or visit the Diocesan Web Site, or email for information on Vocations.
